The number one question, and for most of us, the biggest stressor!
Well, first rule first.....if it's a family session, Mum chooses her outfit first. Always, no objections. From there, you can pull 1-3 colours from Mum's outfit. I tend to think that soft neutrals ( beige, cream, whites, blues, greys, beige etc ), always photograph well, but you can always do earthy neutrals for a bit more depth. Think soft sage greens, mauve, soft blues, light beiges and browns. These palettes look great year round. Now, if you're more of a colourful family ( like me)! we can make that work as well. My suggestion is to keep a light, neutral base ( white, creams etc) with a few pops of colour throughout. I promise you, this has happened many a time - if not, most of the time! All you need to do is show up, and I take care of the rest. No instructions for the kids, other than have fun....it's all on me, and we'll have a fantastic time - grumpy husbands and all;)

A huge tip for Mums is to get yourself ready first ( if you can swing it and get your hair and makeup done prior, even better)! Don't sweat the small stuff with the kids or hubby - if they get a little dirt on them, it doesn't matter, I promise! Make sure everyone is fed and happy, and put a big emphasis on FUN, because yes - everyone always leaves the session smiling. Just make sure not to give them a bunch of rules ( none, really) and leave it ALL up to me. Enjoy each other, be connected, don't sweat the small stuff, and it will be MAGICAL.

I KNOW just how hard it is to wait for your photos...but, I promise you it will be worth it! Family and lifestyle sessions will be ready in 2-3 weeks ( depending on the season), and wedding images will be ready within 8 weeks. I do provide a mini gallery sneak within a week of your wedding for our newlyweds! And if you're wondering just WHY it takes this long - it's because I want your images ( and you) looking like art! I pay very close attention to details such as lighting, skin and hair, and all the little things most people will never even know I worked on ( those unsightly weeds, the litter on the ground, those powerlines in the background, or the random kids behind you on the beach). Yes, I take care of ALL of that, which makes your images SHINE.
